Fort Worth, TX - Led by a singles championship and two doubles championships, the boys and girls team won both district championships. With the wins, both teams will advance to the upcoming TAPPS state championships April 4th and 5th.
Chi and Duc Nguyen lead the boys to victory with a win in doubles action. Josh Russel and Cooper Sorokolit placed second in doubles action as well.
In singles Daniel Kiehlbauch placed third and Hien Nguyen placed fourth overall.
The girls were led to victory by Micah Magday who placed first in girls singles. Not to be out done by Magday, senior twins Isabell and Olivia Tankersley won the girls doubles championship.
“I’m so proud of how we played individually and as a team. All of them competed at a high level and showed great sportsmanship throughout the championship tournament. We are looking forward to heading to the state championships and competing against the best,” head coach Dr. Chi Nguyen said.
Details for the state championship tournament will be released the first week of April.
