Vikings swept by All Saints on the road

Fort Worth, TX - In the final series of the season against All Saints, the Vikings fell twice on the road, losing both games by one run. Game one Thursday night the visitors fell 5-4 and in the final game of the series, the host won the final game in eleven innings 5-4.

Game one of the series senior center fielder Nate Hall led the way at the plate going 2-3 with a solo home run, scoring two runs. Ben Sanchez started game one for the Vikings going four plus innings.

Game two was a classic battle between the two rivals. The Vikings would take the game into eleven innings before All Saints plated the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning.

Senior Hall had himself another solid overall game. On the mound Hall pitched four shutout innings, striking out six over four innings. At the plate he had another hit and another RBI.

Santiago Perez managed to keep the Vikings in the game, pitching four plus innings taking the game into extras. Seniors Trey Rowe and Devon Ashcraft each had two hits apiece in game two.

“The boys battled in both games, so it’s disappointing to come up short. Our pitching kept us in both games which is a good sign heading into the last district series this coming weekend,” head coach Joe Weik said.

The Vikings will celebrate senior night Tuesday at home in a non-district battle vs THESA. Seniors and their parents will be honored before first pitch.
