Vikings sweep Liberty Christian

Argyle, TX - As the game began to slip away and the outcome hung in the balance, senior Jaden Thomas puts his team on his back and led the Vikings to a tough, hard fought road victory. Thomas would score eight straight points for the Vikings after the Warriors tied the game at 29, to put the home team away for good, leading to a 46-42 district win.

"You win with seniors and we have five of them who seen everything you can throw at them. They have been in these moments before, they know how to act and handle themselves," head coach Dylan Dudley stated.

The Vikings held the lead throughout the game but the lead slipped away as Jimmy House for the Warriors went on a quick 7-0 run by himself. After House tied the game with a free throw, Thomas went on his own run to propel the Vikings.

The win secured a season sweep of the Warriors and keeps the Vikings atop the district standings.

"The boys continue to impress me with their growth and that has nothing to do with putting the ball in the basket. To hear them talk with each other in huddles and in the locker room makes me proud. They never get their feelings, they have learned to keep their emotions in check and focus on the gaol at hand, which is to win the possession," Dudley continued.

The win completes an impressive week for the Vikings after beating Midland Christian on the road Tuesday night.

"We will enjoy this one until midnight like we always do and then get back to work Monday. Midland Christian is coming to town Friday night and we know it will be another one to two possession game," said Dudley.

Thomas led the Vikings with 16 points, while seniors Patrick Hoffman and Michael Jones contributed 15 and 10 points respectively.
