Vikings struggle on the road, fall twice to Liberty Christian

Argyle, TX - The bats were silent for the Vikings in the opening game of the series against the Warriors and then woke up too late in game two. The Vikings were swept in district play by Liberty Christian, 12-1 and 5-4.

Game one, the bats never got on track, as the Warriors pitching staff limited the Vikings to two hits both by Will Tune.

The Warriors took advantage of an uncharacteristic night by the Vikings pitching staff as well, hitting the ball all over the field in route to a twelve run explosion.

Game two, the Vikings bats were a little better, pushing across four runs to give themselves a chance at victory. Nate Hall plated two runs, Devon Ashcraft had two hits and an RBI, while Tune and Santiago Perez each had a double.

“It was a rough two days for us, there is no way around it. We will get back to work and look to get back on track this upcoming week. The boys have continued to work and seek ways to get better and as long as we stick to the process the results will come at some point,” head coach Joe Weik stated.

Following a non-district game Saturday, the Vikings will host cross town rival All Saints in a two game series next Thursday and Friday.
