Vikings move to 2-0 in district play, beat Midland Christian

Midland, TX - The Vikings (13-8, 2-0) went on the road Friday night and came back to Fort Worth with their second consecutive district road win, defeating the Mustangs in four sets. Playing in Midland is never easy, coupled with the emotion of beating All Saints the night before, The Vikings had to battle all night to hold off Midland Christian.


The Vikings lost the first set 20-25 before regrouping to win the next three sets, 25-19, 25-21, 25-21 to secure the match victory. With the victory, the Vikings moved to 2-0 in district play, setting up an early showdown with defending state champions Liberty Christian next Tuesday at home in Hartnett Arena.


Freshman Suli Davis once again led the Vikings with 22 kills and 23 digs. Junior Yarely Castillo was a force on the left side, finishing with 19 kills and 2 blocks. Senior Tatum Tischendorf, who has seen her playing increase over the course of the season, helped fuel the offensive attack with 18 assists.
