Vikings finish the job, win district championship

Fort Worth, TX - Nothing says you're ready to win a district championship leading 17-0 after the first quarter. The Vikings made their message loud and clear on their way to beating rivals All Saints 54-26 Friday night. With the win, the Vikings share the district championship with Liberty Christian.

“What a great night for our program, the girls, families and school! To win the district championship on the road at All Saints is a great way to cap the regular season,” head coach Josh Blok proclaimed.

The game was all but over after the first quarter. Led by Odessa Ozuna and Suli Davis, the Vikings forced All Saints to call two timeouts in the first eight minutes and never looked back. The Vikings would take a 24-10 lead into halftime.

A small run by All Saints cut the lead to ten, but they would get no closer. Back to back threes by the Vikings put the game on ice early in the fourth quarter.

“We did some really good things tonight which will hopefully carry over into the playoffs. We are sure going to enjoy this one for a few days,” Blok finished.

The Vikings now await their opponent for the area championship game which will be held on the campus of Nolan Catholic. Game time is set for Tuesday, February 22, at 6 pm.
