Updated: Oct 15, 2021

Los Angeles, CA - Flying across the country and competing is a challenge for all teams on all levels of competition. Matched up against Trinity League member Santa Margarita, the Vikings struggled to move the ball offensively and fell to the Eagles 31-13, Saturday afternoon. The match was played at St. John Bosco HS as part of the 2021 Trinity League vs USA Showcase.

In the opening game of the showcase St. John Bosco defeated East St. Louis (IL) 42-26.

The Vikings (1-2) struggled to move the ball all afternoon against a stout defensive front seven of the Eagles. The Vikings completed only two passes during the game and managed 161 yards rushing.

Sophomore running back Kewan Lacy led the rushing attack with 89 yards, including one touchdown. Junior running back DK Smittick scored the other Vikings touchdown on the ground.

The Vikings will turn their focus to TAPPS district play, as they open district play on the road at Midland Christian. Kickoff is slated for 7 pm, Friday night in Midland.
