Vikings continue to roll

Fort Worth, TX - With two games remaining left to complete an undefeated championship district season, the Vikings took care of the Liberty Christian Warriors Friday night at home, winning 12-2 in six innings. Led once again by a dominating pitching performance from junior Makena Uranga, the Vikings put the game away early, running away with the victory.

Uranga added to her solid junior strikeout numbers, striking out 12 while only allowing one earned run over six innings of work. She scattered six hits, allowing her only run in the top of 5th.

The Vikings offense plated two runs in the first, four runs in each the second and third innings and finished with runs in each the fourth and sixth.

The star at the plate for the Vikings was second baseman Emily Johnston who had two hits including a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth.

Standout outfielder Damaris Saldivar collected another two hits and scored three runs also knocking in two RBIs. Catcher Brooklyn Bennett had two hits in three at bats with two RBIs.

The Vikings will return to Hansen Field Wednesday night, squaring off against rival All Saints. With a win the Vikings will cap off their third district championship in the last four years. First pitch is scheduled for 6 pm.
