LVS win Ernie Holland Invitational

White Settlement, TX - Day one of the Ernie Holland Invitational featured LVS competing against two UIL 6A teams in Birdville HS and Fossil Ridge HS. As he has always done, head coach Jay Fitzgerald challenges his teams throughout the year in preparation for another TAPPS state championship run.

Against Birdville, Avery Pick and Savannah Meyers each scored a goal to lead LVS to a 2-0 victory.

In game two of the invite, LVS jumped on Fossil Ridge early and often en route to a 4-0 victory. Pick scored her second goal of the day, Sierra Padilla, Victoria Watson and Avery Hutka also scored.

LVS began championship Saturday with 3-0 shutout of Weatherford. Led by goals Hutka, Watson and Padilla and shutout by goalie Allie Steining, LVS advanced to the championship match vs Denton Ryan.

The championship was more of the same, as LVS posted a 4-0 shutout to win the title. Hutka, finished her a strong two day run with a hat trick and Olivia Tankersley also added a goal of her own.

"Our girls had a good two day run in this invitational tournament. I am proud of their performance as they should be as well," head coach Jay Fitzgerald stated.

LVS will return their attention back to district action, where they are seeking a fourth consecutive district title.
