Mr. Gaffney has also served as the Regional Coordinator and National Scout for Baseball Factory. During his time as a head baseball coach with John Paul II HS, Mr. Gaffney led his teams to the playoffs 11 times in 12 years. Mr. Gaffney was also named TAPPS District Coach of the Year five times. Mr. Gaffney has also served as a classroom teacher, instructional technology coordinator, and campus leasing coordinator. Mr. Gaffney has taught computer programming and English.

Mr. Gaffney played baseball at Sam Houston State from 1994 until 1998. During his time with the Bearkats, Mr. Gaffney was named an All-Conference and NCAA Academic All-American. He was also named team MVP and was recently inducted to the Sam Houston State all of Honor in 2020. Mr. Gaffney is excited to bring his expertise, experience, and winning philosophy to a school that is rooted in our Catholic faith. “My goal is to make sure we’re doing the work of God's Kingdom and that we have a strong Catholic identity in all of our sports to help represent Nolan Catholic both on the field and off the field,” Mr. Gaffney said. “Helping kids, helping programs, and helping coaches develop students has always been a passion of mine. Nolan Catholic has a rich history that I’m excited to be a part of and excited to help grow in the future.” Mr. Gaffney has been married to his wife, Hope, for 23 years. They have a daughter, Grace, who is 19.
