Vikings start district play 1-0
Argyle, TX - Heading into district play for the best teams can present new challenges when compared to non-district play. The Vikings are a marked team within their district. Led by division I signee Emmy Hornick and division I prospect Makenna Uranga the Vikings know everyone is coming for them.
With that in mind, the Vikings made a loud, early district statement beating Liberty Christian 12-0 in Argyle Thursday night. Led by a dominant, 1-hit shutout from Uranga, the Vikings jumped on the Warriors early and often.
Junior Damaris Saldivar led the Vikings offensive attack, with three hits including a home run and triple and two RBIs. Uranga also helped herself at the plate, knocking in three runs of her own.
The Vikings will return to the diamond Friday as they host Midland Christian in a doubleheader. The Vikings will also play the Mustangs in a single game Saturday.
