Vikings fall to Prestonwood on penalty kicks

Fort Worth, TX - It was a back and forth match the entire evening between two longtime district rivals on the pitch at Doskocil Stadium. With the match tied 2-2 at the end of regulation and overtime, Prestonwood would come out victorious, winning the penalty kick shootout 3-2.

“We had our chances,” head coach Sean Eddington said. “In the end they made one more play than us which proved to be the difference. I am proud of our boys for their fight and determination, but we let one slip away.”

The Vikings got on the board first on a goal by senior Johnny Gonzalez. Ethan Pearson would also add a goal of his own.

The Vikings will have a shot at avenging this loss to the Lions, when they visit Prestonwood, February 10.

The Vikings will return to action, this Thursday night, at home, as the face off with All Saints. Before the match the Vikings will honor the senior members of the program. Senior night festivities will begin at 6 pm.
