Fort Worth, TX - In a tightly contested TAPPS 6A district matchup, All Saints came away victorious 40-36 on the Vikings home floor. The visitors outscored the Vikings 17-12 in the second half as the Vikings shot 29% from the field for the game. The Vikings lead 36-32 with 2:57 left in the contest but were unable to finish the game.
"First of all I want to say thank you to our students who came out again and created a great home court atmosphere. Second I would like to apologize to our fans and players, I did a horrible job of getting them prepared and helping them during the game. Our boys were fighting and somehow had the lead and I did a bad job helping them the closing three minutes," head coach Dylan Dudley stated.
Leading by four late in the game, two missed layups, a turnover and missed three pointer allowed All Saints to stay in the game. DJ Johnson would make a three pointer with three seconds left to put the visitors on top.
"I felt early in the game we were not ourselves, we did not have the same fight and energy we usually do for whatever reason. I do know this, our boys will bounce back. We have five seniors in our locker room who know how to respond. Do not bet against us, we will get it right," Dudley finished.
Patrick Hoffman led the Vikings posting a double-double, 16 points and 11 rebounds.
The Vikings will return to action Tuesday night at Midland Christian. Tipoff is slated for 6:00 pm.
