Viking Club Set to Host 2nd Annual Golf Tournament

Fort Worth, TX - The Nolan Catholic High School Viking Club will once again host their benefit golf tournament, Friday, October 1. The 2021 version of the tournament will be held at Hawks Creek Golf Club, located near downtown Fort Worth.

Last year's tournament drew over 128 golfers and 32 teams. Booster club president, Mark Cortez, and his team expect more participants this year.

“Last year, although it was hot, was such a fun day for so many Nolan Catholic supporters to come out, enjoy a day of golf and fellowship while raising money for the Viking Cub,“ Cortez said. “This year, with the help of so many fabulous volunteers, we are excited about raising even more money for the school and building an even better event!”

The Viking Club is a parent-led organization created to support all school athletic teams, organizations, and clubs. The club has donated over $125,000 in funding over the past few years. The Viking Club has purchased such items as JV basketball uniforms, track & field timing equipment as well as a new HVAC system for the girl’s soccer locker room.

Hawks Creek Club was renovated in 2000 and officially reopened in 2002. The course plays 6,900 yards and featured a much longer back nine than the front nine. Golfers can expect to play a picturesque course while also being challenged to control the ball off the tee.

The Viking Club looks forward to hosting another successful. Nolan Catholic HS coaches and administrators will also be on hand to greet competitors and we will also provide insight into each respective sport’s upcoming seasons!
